Nurse-led home care built around the people who matter most.
Ascent Home Care was created to give Calgary families a better home care experience: expert guidance, compassionate caregivers, clear communication, and consistent care from people your loved one can get to know and trust.

Raising the Standard of Home Care
Home care should make life easier for your family, not add another layer of worry.
Ascent was founded by a nurse who spent years working in hospitals and home care and saw how difficult it can be for families to find support that is both clinically sound and genuinely personal. Too often, families were left trying to coordinate care on their own while adjusting to changing health needs, unfamiliar caregivers, and inconsistent communication.
Ascent Home Care was built to offer a clearer, more dependable approach:
- Nurse-led care from the first conversation onward.
- A small, consistent care team so your loved one sees familiar faces who know their routines and preferences.
- Family collaboration and clear communication, so you always know what is happening and who to call.
The result is care designed to help your loved one feel safe, comfortable, and respected at home while giving your family confidence that they are in capable hands.
Every family we serve is our neighbour. When care comes from the heart, it becomes a community calling.
Meet the People Behind Ascent
The people leading Ascent understand both sides of home care: the clinical details that matter and the pressure families carry when someone they love needs more support.
Their role is to make sure care is safe, coordinated, personal, and consistent, and that families feel heard and informed along the way.

Denise Temple
BSc, LPN
Founder & CEO
I grew up in a small seaside town in Nova Scotia, where community, responsibility and care for one another were a way of life. Those values still guide how I lead Ascent — with compassion, clarity, and steady resolve.
Sixteen years in hospital and home care nursing, five years teaching health care programs at Bow Valley College, and a master’s in dementia care currently underway. That foundation lets me lead with clinical understanding, strong standards, and real respect for the families who place their trust in us.
What I’m building is a care model that supports families and caregivers alike: transparent, consistent, genuinely present.
At home I’m grounded by my two British Shorthair cats, who remind me daily what home should feel like — safe, warm, and connected.

Marianny Moran
Doctor
Director of Client Care
I’m a Venezuelan-trained general surgeon and general practitioner with over a decade of clinical experience, and a Master’s degree in Clinical Research from McMaster University. My work is grounded in evidence-based care and deep respect for the people and families I serve.
Since moving to Canada I’ve worked across home care, nursing homes and retirement communities. Those years reinforced something: high-quality care isn’t only clinical skill. It’s presence, communication, and truly understanding what families are navigating behind the scenes.
Supporting care teams, honouring patient dignity, and helping families feel informed and reassured during vulnerable moments — that’s central to how I lead.

Maria Montero
Client Care Manager
I’m Maria, and I’m originally from Colombia. My connection to Canada began early in my life when I moved here at the age of 14. I spent seven years in Canada and completed high school in Ottawa before returning to Colombia to pursue my passion for medicine.
I went on to complete my medical training and became a General Practitioner in Colombia. My experience as a physician shaped the way I see care today. I believe quality care begins with truly understanding the person in front of you, not only their medical needs, but their routines, concerns, family, and what matters most to them.
I value compassion, consistency, and strong communication between families and the people involved in their care. I also believe families deserve to feel informed and supported, especially when a loved one’s needs are changing or becoming more complex.
At Ascent Home Care, I bring my medical background and a whole-person approach to supporting our clients and their families. It is important to me that care feels thoughtful, well coordinated, and personal, while always protecting each person’s dignity and independence.

- Build continuity through familiar, carefully selected caregivers.
- Keep families informed, involved, and supported.
